Of course, we are at this point in time where resolutions are everywhere. Though I am one to do the traditional resolutions that include weight loss and healthy commitments, this year I am going to be easier on myself (which may or may not have a lot to do with the fact that I will be giving birth at the beginning of this year, in February.) I am going to stick to resolutions that enhance my life and allow me to exist in a more satisfying space.
01: Go outside.
Going outside makes me feel better and puts me in a better mood. I never make the time to go outside and go for a walk, or drive to the beach and just sit, or sit and drink coffee in my backyard - this is my promise to myself to make an effort to be out in the California air.
Living more simply is very appealing to me. For me, it's going to start and end with my personal wardrobe. There are so many things that I own that I never use, wear, or even remember are in my possession! Moving my closet from the third bedroom into our room, while transitioning that space in Baby #2's room is going to make this mission a reality (as well as a necessity). I look forward to simplifying this part of my life.
This is probably going to be the most difficult resolution for me to keep. I want so badly to share my stories, recipes, and photos with others, but I find myself using my voice so much more than written words. Writing down these stories and blogging about my life is a preservation practice in itself that I need to learn to cherish. Here's to a great year of blogging commitment!
I took so many photos of my son when he was first born, even for the first 6 months of his life. But then I started to dwindle with the photos. It could have been my return to work, or maybe just the fact that he started to move around and my phone became more of a hindrance than a tool to help me record memories. This year I want to change that. I really want to make the effort to be purposeful and take the time to take photos. This goes along with my blogging goal - take the time to record the memories.
My friend and my foe, reading. I never take the time to read books - I even skip Instagram captions if they are too long! I think it has to do with my job. I proof a lot of materials and it makes me feel as though my reading quota is met, but I get a lot of joy out of reading pleasurable things. Luckily, my husband got me a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas and that will make it easier to get reading!
Do you have any resolutions this year? What are they?
Thanks for stopping by!
